Rod Tomczak is a graduate of OCPM and completed a PSR 24+. He has been board certified by ABFAS since 1981, practiced in Monroe, MI before accepting a faculty appointment at DMU. While teaching in Des Moines he earned an EdD from Drake University. He then joined the department of orthopedic surgery at the Ohio State University College of Medicine where he was co-chairman of the medical school curriculum committee and chairman of the medical school Problem-based Learning and Independent Study Curricula, founded a three year podiatric surgery residency, was a member of the ACGME committee and University Residency Review Committee.
He left Ohio State to earn an MD degree and become the founding dean of two Caribbean medical schools and a third medical school in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Currently, Dr. Tomczak is the chair of the Ohio State University Retirees Association Health and Wellness Group. He works for Zimmer Medizin as a consultant and writer.
