Board Member
Dr. Edward N Behen graduated from Loyola University in Chicago with a BS degree in biology. He earned his DPM degree from the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine in 1975. He completed a surgical residency at St. Bernard Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Behen has been in private practice in Colorado for over 40 years. He served as the president of the Colorado Podiatry Medical Board for the state of Colorado for 10 years. During that time the Colorado Podiatry Medical Board became an independent board and the Colorado Podiatry law was significantly updated.
Dr. Behen is board certified in Podiatric Surgery and Podiatric Medicine through the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry since 1993. Dr. Behen has been instrumental in opening 3 hospitals on the Western slope of Colorado to podiatry. His extensive clinical experience and commitment to excellence makes him an invaluable voice on the ABMSP board.
Dr. Behen is committed to the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry because it has been a valuable asset in his many years of practice. Dr. Behen feels that the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry is essential to the continued success of podiatry. The ABMSP certifications in 7 areas of practice make it possible for many nonsurgical practices to be rightly recognized and enable them to obtain privileges in hospitals and participation in insurance programs in order to better serve the public.
