Dr. Salter earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, followed by an internship at Grand Community Hospital (Kern Hospital for Special Surgery) in Warren, Michigan. Dr. Salter retired from active practice in 2021 after 45 years in Rochester, Detroit, Southfield, and Farmington Hills Michigan. He has been a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Michigan State Podiatric Medical Association, and the Southeastern Division of the Michigan Podiatric Medical Association.
Before retiring he was certified in Primary Care in Podiatric Medicine, Foot and Ankle Surgery, and Prevention and Treatment of Diabetic Foot Wounds and In Diabetic Footwear by the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry. He is a Fellow of the American Board of Disability Analysts. He has also served as chairman of licensing and regulation in Michigan, Commodore Great Lakes Yacht Club and on the Board of Hospice of Michigan.
